Vladimir Zhirinovsky dies

Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the leader of the Liberal and Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), has died, Vyacheslav Volodin, the speaker of the Russian Parliament said on April 6.

“His personality is so large-scale that without him it is difficult to imagine the history of the development of the political system of modern-day Russia,” Volodin wrote on Telegram.

Zhirinovsky was 75 years old.

“His personality is so large-scale that without him it is difficult to imagine the history of the development of the political system of modern-day Russia,” Volodin wrote on Telegram.

LDPR confirmed Zhirinovsky's death. This is a huge loss for all of Russia, and for all his fans and supporters, party representatives said.

Those who met Zhirinovsky in real life, say that he was like two different persons on and off camera. Oddly enough, he appeared to be a sad sociopath off camera, well-known Russian journalist Aleksey Pivovarov wrote on his Telegram channel.

Vladimir Zhirinovsky was one of the brightest political figures in Russia, albeit a notorious one. Throughout the years of his political career, he was acting like a troll and evil buffoon. That image of his would often allow Zhirinovsky to say things that no one else in Russian politics would dare to say out loud.

In December, Zhirinovsky spoke in the parliament and warned everyone that the year 2022 was not going to a year of peace. He publicly said that Russia would start a military operation in Donbass, but no one really paid attention to that. Zhirinovsky even announced the date, but he turned out to be only two days wrong in his prediction.

Zhirinovsky was pronounced dead before

Zhirinovsky was pronounced dead on March 25, 2022, when a Russian Senator, Alexander Pronyushkin, announced his death on Telegram. Vyacheslav Volodin later refuted the reports and said that Zhirinovsky was in critical condition.

Senator Alexander Pronyushkin subsequently deleted his post about Zhirinovsky's death from Telegram. Volodin later advised Pronyushkin should resign for his act.

In early February, Zhirinovsky fell ill with COVID despite vaccinations. Zhirinovsky himself said that he had had eight vaccinations for COVID-19. However, his condition was deteriorating.

On March 21, it was reported that Vladimir Zhirinovsky had a toxic shock syndrome. Some time later one of his lungs failed.
