Russia works on new doctrine of information security

The Russian Security Council proposed to develop a new doctrine of information security of the Russian Federation, as the current document does not take into account all of today's realities associated with the rapid development of information technology. A modern society may face such threats as information war, cyber attacks and computer crimes and the theft of personal information.

The issue of information security of the state gained importance in 2014 due to the political pressure on Russia. Members of the Russian Security Council believe that Russia should be in constant readiness for confrontation in the information environment, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta said.

Experts emphasize that information security should embrace both external and internal threats. Thus, according to the Russian Interior Ministry, there were about 11,000 cyber crimes reported in 2014 - mostly Internet fraud and theft.
