Another sports complex opens in Nizhny Novgorod region

Bogatyr sports complex opened in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region, in the settlement of Krasnie Baki (Red Tanks). Governor Valery Shantsev and deputy candidate Marat Safin attended the opening ceremony of the complex.

The new complex has a skating rink with artificial ice. There are also pools for sports swimming and for children, gyms, a fitness hall and an all-purpose gym with stationary tribunes for 180 people. The center also has a football field with artificial grass.

"It will be possible to develop up to 30 kinds of sport in the new sports complex: football, hockey, swimming, and many others," governor Shantsev said.

Bogatyr has been built through the partnership between the state and private entrepreneurs. In addition, Mr. Shantsev presented the keys from new homes to either young specialists, who work in the new complex.

Twenty of such sports complexes have already been opened in various districts of the region. Bogatyr has become the 21st one. Each complex creates over 100 new jobs; it is capable of accepting nearly 1,000 people a day.

There will be two sports complexes built in each of eight districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region before 2015 within the scope of the initiative of governor Shantsev and United Russia Party.
