390 forest fires are raging on the territory of Russia. 76 of them were registered in the past 24 hours, a source in the Information Department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told RIA Novosti on Thursday.
The largest number of fires still burn in Siberia and the Far East, namely in the Irkutsk region /121 fires, 21 of them large/, the Chita region /103, 58 of them large/, the Republic of Buryatia /60, 18 large/, on the Khabarovsk territory /15, 7 large/, and in the Amur region /18 fires/.
The firefighting effort involves 5,847 people, about 1,048 pieces of ground-based equipment, and 61 aircraft.
