Two locals were killed in an explosion in Chechnya's Shali district, the regional operational headquarters for co-ordinating the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus reported.
The tragedy occurred on Tuesday afternoon on a road not far from the Avtura village. A 40-year-old man and a boy, 15, who were riding along the road in a horse-drawn cart were killed in the explosion of a land mine that had been planted by terrorists.
An investigation is underway and a criminal case has been launched, the agency's interlocutor added.
