Seven metric tons of medicines supplied by Switzerland as humanitarian aid for hospitals in Grozny (capital of Chechnya) will be brought on Friday to Mozdok (the town in North Ossetia, the republic bordering on Chechnya) by a cargo plane operated by the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia. This information was given to RIA Novosti by the press service of the Ministry. Deputy Minister of Emergencies Yury Brazhnikov said that agreement had already been reached with the government of the Chechen Republic on the transfer of the cargo from Switzerland. He remarked that "this procedure in Grozny will be carried out, as we expect, by a high-ranking representative of the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation in Russia". Mr. Brazhnikov said that the medicines would be handed over to the hospital of war veterans, to the Children's Hospital of the republic, and to the 9th city hospital. For security considerations, said Yury Brazhnikov, the whole of the cargo from Switzerland is planned to be carried from Mozdok to Grozny by transport helicopters of the Ministry.
