On the Sakhalin Island, five people lost while fishing on a motor boat in the Taranka river Saturday were finally saved Tuesday. RIA Novosti learned today from the press-service of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia that a strong gale and current had carried the boat out into the Sea of Okhotsk. The missing people were sought by patrolmen on land and by 5 motor boats on water. It was impossible to use aircraft because of the dense mist. An MI-8 helicopter was not able to begin the search until Tuesday morning. It found the fishermen and raised them aboard. Doctors evaluate the rescued men's current condition as satisfactory.
