Afghanistan: Chaos as Warlords Fight

Armed confrontation around the western city of Herat has caused 11 deaths as factions loyal to the governor, Ismail Khan, and the rival Pashtun warlord Amanullah Khan, clash.

The fighting took place specifically one hundred kilometres south of Herat, around the airport of Shindand. Amanullah Khan declared that his forces suffered losses of 11 dead and 15 injuries, when they were attacked by the troops loyal to the governor of Herat.

The puppet regime in Afghanistan is ineffective, out of touch, limited to its castle in Kabul, outside which is has no authority whatsoever. Like all regimes imposed by foreign powers alien to local culture, it is bound to fail.
