Outstanding Russian film director Grigory Chukhrai died of a heart attack at the age of 80. Grigory Chukhrai shot not so many films but each of them was an event in Russian cinematography. His "Ballad of a Soldier" is still a standard for film-makers of the whole world. It was the first Soviet film which won the main prize of the Cannes Festival (in 1968).
