Black people get under suspicion more often than white ones

In Britain black people are seven times more likely than white people to be stopped and searched by police and six times more likely to get in prison.

Black people accounted for more than 15 percent of all stops and searches conducted by British police in 2005-2006, even though they account for only 2.8 percent of Britain's population, according to figures published by the country's Justice Ministry.

They also made up more than 15 percent of the country's prison population, and were more likely to be arrested and tried.
