A plane carrying Indian and Australian cricketers made an emergency landing Monday after a bird flew into the engine during a flight to Mumbai, a news report said.
The accident occurred 10 minutes after the Jet Air flight had taken off from the western Indian city of Nagpur, the Press Trust of India news agency reported.
Five blades of one of the engines were damaged by the bird, the agency quoted airport officials as saying.
The flight landed safely in Nagpur and the players were scheduled to fly to Mumbai later Monday.
The two teams are scheduled to play the final game of their seven-match one-day series in Mumbai, India's financial and entertainment capital,on Wednesday. Australia has already wrapped up the series by taking a 4-1 lead.
