A Lufthansa cargo plane made an emergency landing at Nairobi airport on Monday due to technical difficulties.
The pilot reported a problem with the airplane's hydraulic system, and airport authorities cleared the way the emergency landing, said officer Joseph Mumira, who works at the airport.
The plane landed safely and no one was hurt, Mumira said, giving no further details about the problems with the aircraft. He said the pilot had requested earlier that emergency services stand by.
African airspace has the worst accident record in the world. Last week, a Congolese cargo plane crashed into a group of houses in Kinshasa, killing at least 50 people.
