Smugglers hide drugs in Valentine's Day delivery truck

Police in northern Greece arrested two Albanian men on drug smuggling charges after finding 64 kilograms (140 pounds) of marijuana hidden in a flower shop van making Valentine's Day deliveries, authorities said Wednesday.

The men, who were not identified, were arrested near the northern town of Kastoria.

"The van was full of flowers. The (suspects) thought no one would check on them because it's Valentine's Day," Kastoria police chief Stavros Validis said.

Also Wednesday, an Albanian man was arrested after crossing the Greek-Albanian border, near Kastoria, with 142 kilograms (313 pounds) of marijuana packed in saddle bags and being carried on a mule. An alleged accomplice escaped arrest, reports AP.

Police said the suspect was carrying an automatic rifle and was arrested while fitting the magazine to his weapon.
