Czech Republic: workers fail to reconnect second unit of nuclear plant

The automatic security system shut the turbine early Wednesday after the temperature rose a couple of degrees, said Milan Nebesar, a Temelin nuclear plant spokesman.

The plant's second unit was disconnected from the grid Monday because of an oil leak from the turbine. The fault was in the non-nuclear part of the plant's second unit and posed no threat to nuclear security, the AP reports.

The plant's first unit has been off the grid since June due to annual refueling, Nebesar said.
