Portugal: heat wave causes wildfires; 6 firefighters killed

Sixty-seven firefighters, backed by 17 trucks and two helicopters were figihting the fires, in the Porto and Viseu districts.

On Sunday, six firefighters were killed when they were enveloped by flames as they fought a large forest fire in northern Guarda. The blaze was quelled on Monday morning after more than 300 firefighters, 79 firetrucks and two airborne water tankers battled it through the night, the AP reports.
