China: flooding kills 30 people; 2400 homes destroyed

Another 20 people are missing following the flooding triggered by torrential rains in Wangmo County in Guizhou province, northwest of Hong Kong, the Xinhua News Agency said.

The floods occurred two weeks ago, Xinhua said. There was no explanation for the delay in reporting them, but Guizhou is among China's poorest areas, with isolated mountain villages, according to the AP.
