Chinese vice premier travels in Czech capital

Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu was expected in the Czech capital Monday for two days of talks on bilateral and economic issues, officials said. Hui is scheduled to meet with Czech President Vaclav Klaus in Prague later Monday, presidential spokesman Petr Hajek said.

On Tuesday, Hui will meet with Czech Premier Jiri Paroubek to discuss economic issues and review results of agreements made during the visit of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao in Prague late last year, a statement said. During his visit on Dec. 9, Wen signed a bilateral treaty on investment protection as well as a memorandum of understanding between the Czech government and Changhong, China's leading producer of consumer electronics, reports the AP.
