The wife of French President Jacques Chirac arrived in Afghanistan 's capital on Friday, an Afghan official said. Bernadette Chirac will on Saturday inaugurate a medical clinic set up in Kabul by the French government with the help of the Aga Khan Foundation, a non-profit development agency, said Khalieeq Ahmad, deputy spokesman for President Hamid Karzai.
He gave no other details. The French Embassy also only confirmed that the first lady had arrived in the city, but refused to share any further details about her engagements due to security reasons.
