Pete Doherty's drugs court case in Great Britain delayed at request of prosecution

British rock star Pete Doherty reaffirmed his love for supermodel Kate Moss, his former girlfriend, as he left court Thursday after another appearance on drug charges.

The 26-year-old Babyshambles front man ran to his gold-colored Jaguar from Thames Magistrates' Court in east London . Surrounded by photographers, he used a felt-tip pen to scrawl "I love Kate 4 eva" on the windshield.

The enfant terrible also wrote "QPR" in a tribute to his favorite soccer team, Queens Park Rangers, before driving off into the London traffic with his horn blaring.

He was dressed in a light blue military jacket and removed his trademark trilby hat inside the court, where he confirmed his address in east London .

At a brief hearing, Doherty's court case on seven counts of possessing controlled drugs was adjourned until March 23 after the prosecution said it was not ready to proceed yet.

Before the hearing began, Doherty leaned out a court window to serenade waiting photographers on a harmonica. He then flashed a "V" for victory sign and lit a cigarette.

Doherty has had a well-publicized off-on relationship the 32-year-old Moss, who was questioned by London police in January over allegations she took cocaine.

During another court appearance Wednesday, Doherty breezed through a review of his earlier sentence for possessing hard drugs despite twice failing drug tests last month. "You're doing quite well, but you need to keep it up," Magistrate Jane McIvor said then.

On Feb. 8, Doherty, who rose to fame with the group The Libertines, was sentenced to 12 months community service and ordered to undergo a drug rehabilitation program. He was warned that he could be sent to jail if he did not comply with the rehabilitation order.

In court, there was no mention of Doherty's arrest on Feb. 27 in Birmingham on suspicion of car theft and possessing hard drugs, nor of the additional drug charges lodged against him Tuesday by police in London .

Doherty was released on bail in the Birmingham incident, and so far has not been charged.

On Tuesday, Doherty was hit with seven further charges of possessing crack cocaine and heroin, related to incidents in December and January. London 's Metropolitan Police charged Doherty with possessing heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana and hashish when he was arrested on Dec. 18 and with possessing heroin, cocaine and marijuana when he was arrested on Jan. 14, reports the AP.
