India 's prime minister told lawmakers Monday that his government will not compromise the country's national security to seal a nuclear deal with the United States .

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said information vital to national security would not be "compromised in the process of negotiations" with the United States on the landmark deal, which would grant international recognition to India's nuclear program, reports the AP.
