Leading Hindi cinema star Shah Rukh Khan says he's continually trying to improve himself as an actor and a person, and feels like a 25-year-old despite recently celebrating his 40th birthday. Khan told the Hindustan Times he only rates himself 4.5 on a scale of 10 as an actor.
"I intend to reach nine on a scale of 10 some day," the newspaper quoted him as saying Tuesday. The prolific Bollywood actor said he has never felt tired despite his hectic schedule. "I don't feel I'm 40. I feel the same energy as 15 years ago. Since I like to work fast and take up new work even as one assignment gets over, I don't give myself free time. That way I ensure that I never feel tired."
Khan has acted in nearly 50 movies including such popular films as "King Uncle," "Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman" (Raju Became a Gentleman), and "Kabhi Haan, Kabhi Na" (Sometimes Yes, Sometimes No). Khan quit smoking on the eve of his 40th birthday in November.
India's Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss has written asking him to join the campaign to create awareness about the hazards of smoking and help improve public health. According to government statistics, more than 800,000 Indians die each year from smoking-related illnesses, reports the AP. N.U.
