United States midfielder Claudio Reyna signed a one-year contract extension with Manchester City in the Premier League. The 32-year-old has scored four times in 53 appearances since joining Man City from Sunderland in August 2003. He moved from Rangers to Sunderland in 2001.
"The club's going in the right direction and it's nice because we have everything in place to continue the success over the next few years," said Reyna, who will be at this year's World Cup in Germany. Reyna played 14 matches this season before picking up an ankle injury last month.
"It'll be nice to represent the club at the World Cup and it's just nice to know your future too, and that the manager knows that I'd like to stay here," Reyna said. "I like where the club's going and it's a great place to play your football. There's really nowhere else I'd like to go", reports the AP.
