Another terrorist attempt in Kosovo

An explosive device struck a bus traveling to Belgrade from Kosovo, damaging it but causing no injuries, police confirmed Thursday.

The blast hit the back of the bus, which was carrying 57 people, police spokesman Refki Morina said. The attack occurred late Wednesday near the central Kosovo town of Suva Reka.

Police were investigating the motive of the attack and the type of weapon used, Morina said.

The bus was traveling its regular route from the southern town of Dragash to Belgrade.

A similar attack against a bus traveling to Belgrade occurred late last year when a projectile failed to explode after hitting it.

Kosovo, which has an ethnic Albanian majority and Serb minority, is entering a delicate phase with talks on its future political status, which are likely to increase tensions in the deeply polarized region, the AP reports.

Kosovo Albanians in the meanwhile have time and again announced they would accept only independence from Serbia.
