Two explosions in Spain: no injuries

Two small bombs exploded Thursday near a state-run hotel in the northern Spanish city of Zaragoza after a warning calling from the separatist group ETA, causing no injuries and minor damage, police said.

The devices went off shortly after 8 a.m. (0700GMT) in the surroundings of the upscale Parador de Sos del Rey Catolico, police in Zaragoza said. Zaragoza is some 300 kilometers (190 miles) north of Madrid.

ETA is blamed for more than 800 deaths since the late 1960s as part of its drive for an independent Basque state in northern Spain and southwest France. Its last fatal attack was in May 2003 when two policemen were killed by a car bomb. ETA has often attacked hotels or major highways during holiday vacations, reports the AP. I.L.
