Suicide attacker injures three NATO peacekeepers in Afghanistan

A suicide bomber in a car launched an attack near the airport at the western Afghan city of Herat on Tuesday injuring three NATO peacekeepers, Afghan officials said. Gen. Haroon Asifi said the attack happened on the road to the airport, and that three foreign peacekeepers were wounded. He did not know their nationalities. The attacker died.

Interior Ministry spokesman Yousuf Stanekzai, confirmed there had been a suicide attack involving a car, but gave no details and referred further questions to the International Security Assistance Force, as the NATO-led peacekeeping mission is known. ISAF officials could not be immediately reached for comment, reports the AP. I.L.
