Mississippi to carry out first execution since 2002

A convicted murderer from &to=http://english.pravda.ru/culture/2002/10/21/38428.html' target=_blank>Mississippi will become the oldest person in the United States to be executed since capital punishment was reinstated almost three decades ago.

The 77-year-old John B. Nixon Sr., a hit man in the 1985 execution-style murder of a Mississippi woman, is to die by lethal injection at 6 p.m. Wednesday (0000 GMT Thursday). Nixon has been on death row since March 1986.
