Fishermen and processors resolve dispute stalled crab harvest

Crab fishermen prepared to head out to sea after resolving a price dispute with seafood processors that delayed the commercial harvest of Central California's Dungeness crab for almost two weeks.

Crabbers in the region's three main ports - Bodega Bay, Half Moon Bay and San Francisco - agreed Saturday to accept an offer by the region's largest processors to pay $1.75 (Ђ1.49) per 1 pound (0.45 kilograms) of crab, according to Larry Collins, vice president of the San Francisco Crab Boat Owners Association.

The Central California Dungeness fishery officially opened on Nov. 15, but the fishermen refused to untie their boats at the catch prices offered by the region's processors, AP reports.
