Algerian president sent to Paris hospital

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika was sent Saturday to a Paris hospital after suffering a gastrointestinal problem, his office said.

A statement said Bouteflika, 68, was examined at an Algiers hospital and doctors felt he should have a "deeper medical examination." The statement said the doctors who examined him felt "the president's condition is not a source of concern.", AP reports.
