Education minister of Indian Kashmir Suspected killed by militants

Suspected Islamic militants shot and killed the education minister Ghulam Nabi Lone of Indian-controlled Kashmir at his home on Tuesday, police said.

Militants scaled a wall in a high-security zone and entered the home of the minister and began firing indiscriminately, said Munir Khan, a police superintendent in Srinagar.

Lone, the education minister for India's Jammu-Kashmir state, died while being taken to hospital, reports the AP.
