Norway's next government to remove troops from Iraq

The left-leaning Red-Green coalition that is preparing to form Norway's next government said Thursday it plans to withdraw Norwegian staff and training officers from Iraq, the AP reports.

The three-party bloc also said it would review Norway's commitment when it comes to troops under NATO assignment. The Nordic country has 20 soldiers in Iraq, including 10 serving in staff officer positions within the British and Polish contingents, and another 10 involved in training Iraqi forces. A.M.
