Former Ugandan president reported dead

The Ugandan president's office announced Monday that former President Milton Obote had died.

Obote's party confirmed his death, but gave no details.

The president's office also did not immediately have details on the circumstances of the death of Obote, Uganda's president from 1980-85 but in exile in Zambia in recent years, AP reported.
