Belgium agreed Monday to send a field hospital to earthquake-hit region of Kashmir in South Asia, and freed up Ђ350,000 (US$423,000) in emergency aid to the stricken region.
Neighboring Luxembourg said it was sending Ђ200,000 (US$242,000) as a first contribution to the international relief effort.
The Belgian government said a team of doctors and nurses was leaving to the region with the country's B-fast emergency response team to set up the hospital.
They planned to turn facility over to local medical authorities after 10 days, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement, the AP reports. A.M.
