Soldiers kill three Kurdish rebels in southeast Turkey

Three Kurdish rebels killed by Turkish troops in a clash in southeastern Turkey on Monday, officials said.

The rebels were killed fighting near the town of Peltek, in Tunceli province, the governor's office said in a statement. It did not give any other information.

More than 37,000 people have been killed since 1984, when guerrillas from the Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, took up arms in a fight for autonomy, reports the AP.
