Bomb attacks in southwestern Bangladesh

Two separate bomb attacks in southwestern Bangladesh have injured at least 22 ruling party members, a news report said Sunday.

Unidentified bomb hurled a bomb at a ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party office late Saturday at Keshobpur in Jessore district, 140 kilometers (85 miles) west of the capital, Dhaka, the Prothom Alo daily newspaper said.

At least 20 party members, who were chatting in front of the party office, were injured, the report said. Separately, another bomb attack in neighboring Chuadanga district injured two other ruling party members, the daily said.

No one claimed the responsibility for the attacks, the report said. The injured were hospitalized, it said, quoting unnamed hospital officials. Officials could not be reached immediately for comment, AP reports.
