Blair proposes renewing Russia-EU treaty

British Prime Minister Tony Blair said that the Russia-EU treaty that expires in 2007 must be extended and updated.

Blair said at a joint press conference after the Russia-EU summit that further Russia-EU relations are of great importance.

Blair said that the parties had discussed economic issues, primarily ways to broaden cooperation in the energy sector, Interfax reported.
