Putin greets Russian Jews on occasion of Rosh Hashanah

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent greetings to the Russian Jewish Community on the occasion of the major Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah, the presidential press service said.

“Disciples of the Jewish faith associate this holiday with spiritual purification, moral and religious improvement, and commitment to the eternal values of good, justice and mercy,” Putin said in a letter of greetings.

“Along with the followers of other creeds, Russian Jews make a contribution to the maintenance of stability and concord and promotion of a fruitful public dialogue,” he said.

“This is especially topical these days when we’re trying together to oppose any manifestations of ethnic and religious intolerance,” he said.

“May all of you be healthy, happy, and affluent and may joy and happiness fill your homes,” Putin said, Itar-Tass reported.
