Georgia accuses Russia of supporting separatists

Tbilisi accused Russia on Thursday of supplying arms to Georgia's breakaway South Ossetia region and of supporting South Ossetia in ways that "violate all recognized international principles and standards and are directed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia."

Official Russian representatives were present at a military parade in the South Ossetian capital of Tskhinvali on Tuesday, the ministry said in a statement.

Moreover, South Ossetia has acquired new weapons while Russian peacekeepers stationed in the conflict area have failed to react to this, it said, Interfax reported.
