The Ukrainian parliament on Thursday approved Yuriy Yekhanurov, the choice of President Viktor Yushchenko, as the country's new prime minister.
Lawmakers gave Yekhanurov 289 votes, well above the 226 that he needed. Yushchenko ousted the former prime minister, his Orange Revolution ally Yulia Tymoshenko, on Sept. 8.
