First Cuban astronaut Gen. Arnaldo Tamayo said yesterday he hopes for resuming space cooperation with Russia. Tamayo took part in the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the Russian-Cuban space mission.
Tamayo hopes he will not be the only Cuban astronaut to cooperate with Soviet and Russian colleagues.
The Russian-Cuban crew went on a space mission onboard the Soyuz-38 spaceship on September 18, 1980. The eight-day mission was accomplished onboard the Salyut-6 – Soyuz-37 – Soyuz-38 orbiting system, reported Itar-Tass.
