United Nations officials in Kosovo plan to hand over command of police in the province's capital to the local force.
The transition is part of the process of handing over security responsibilities as the time nears to resolve the political status of the disputed U.N.-administered province.
Three of six regional police headquarters have already been transferred from the U.N. to the Kosovo Police Service. Tuesday's handover will bring that number to four.
According to the AP Kosovo's top U.N. official, Soren Jessen-Petersen, was expected to preside over the ceremony.
Meanwhile assaults upon Serbs’ enclaves continue – last week two young Serbs were shot down. Serb population of Kosovo went out on demonstrations to protest against Albanian terrorism.
