TV President visit Sheehan anti-war-camp

World Famous actor Martin Sheen and the Rev. Al Sharpton have joined hundreds of war protesters camping near President George W. Bush's ranch.

Sharpton attended an interfaith service. He said he felt compelled to meet Cindy Sheehan, the grieving mother who started the rally Aug. 6. She's said she'll remain until she can question the president about the more than 1,800 U.S. troops killed in Iraq, including her son.

Sheen, who portrays the Democratic president on NBC's "The West Wing," also met with Sheehan. He told a crowd of more than 300 that at least they had "the acting president of the United States," reports NBCS.

Earlier Sunday, the Rev. Al Sharpton spoke at an interfaith service at the camp, saying he was compelled to meet Sheehan.

"I feel that it is our moral obligation to stand and to be courageous with these families, and particularly Cindy, that have become the conscience of this nation," said Sharpton, a former Democratic presidential candidate.

During the service, several cars with pro-Bush signs drove slowly down the road by the protest campsite. Later, one man who had been walking down the street was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault for allegedly shoving an anti-war demonstrator, McLennan County sheriff's deputies said, informs ABC News.
