43 killed in Baghdad

The number of people killed in Baghdad by car bombings reached the number of at least 43 and about 76 people are wounded.

Police and medics were among the casualties, struck by the third blast close to a nearby hospital where victims of the earlier bombs had been taken, Telegraph reports.

The multiple nature of the attacks, which were the bloodiest in the capital for several weeks, suggested a link to radical Islamist groups in Iraq.
