Two suspects on British racist outrageous killing

The British police are questioning two men who, they think, could be connected with the racist killing of black teenager Anthony Walker. The pair was arrested Wednesday night.

Merseyside police arrested them at Liverpool's John Lennon airport on suspicion of Walker's murder late on Wednesday evening.

The 18-year-old student was beaten to death with an axe by a group of three to four people last Friday.

He was killed just minutes after he had been taunted with racist abuse while standing at a bus stop with his white girlfriend.

Police had previously said they wanted to talk to two local men, Michael Barton, 17, and Paul Taylor, 20.

Barton is the younger brother of Manchester City footballer Joey Barton. The premier league player made a televised appeal for his brother to turn himself into police on Tuesday.

The murder shocked the local community in the Huyton area of Merseyside and evoked memories of the 1993 high-profile racist killing of Stephen Lawrence.

Police have also bailed four other men over the death.

Hundreds of people had gathered Tuesday for a memorial for Walker, an honors student.
