Airbus is going to launch its A350 aircraft

Transport ministers from France, Germany, the UK and Spain have failed to reach a final agreement as yet on the requested aid for Airbus SAS to launch its A350 aircraft.

After the ministers met at the &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/world/2001/06/22/8481.html ' target=_blank>Le Bourget Air Show here, French transport minister &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/diplomatic/2002/12/12/40735.html ' target=_blank>Dominique Perben said that 'there have not been any conclusions.'

A statement released at the end of the ministers' meeting said: 'Airbus has invited the four governments to invest in this programme.'

'The governments are studying the Airbus proposal in a constructive spirit.'

The EU and US are currently locked in a bitter dispute over the level of state subsidies granted to rival plane makers Boeing Co and Airbus, reports the Forbes.

According to the Business Week, the European planemaker's jet wins its first major order, from Qatar, at the Paris Air Show. But Boeing's rival 787 has a big lead in sales.

For the aerospace event's opening day at least, it was the Paris Airbus Show. As the company's double-decker A380 megaplane flew graceful loops over the Le Bourget airfield on June 13, Airbus announced a crucial order from Qatar Airways for up to 60 of its new midsize A350 aircraft.
