Six-nation talks: nuclear weapons program will be discussed

South Korean President &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/politics/2002/12/21/41149_.html ' target=_blank>Roh Moo-hyun will meet Chinese President Hu Jintao Sunday in Russia to discuss resuming stalled six-party talks aimed at ending North Korea's &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/world/20/91/365/14284_nuclear.html ' target=_blank>nuclear programs.

"President Roh plans to meet Chinese leader Hu Sunday and plans to discuss the North Korean issue and other mutual interests including relations among South Korea, China and Japan," South Korea's presidential Blue House said in a statement. China is North Korea's main backer, providing much of the reclusive state's energy and food.

Roh left for Russia Sunday to join world leaders to attend commemorations marking the 60th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.

Nearly a year has passed since a third round of talks between the two Koreas, the United States, Japan, Russia and China ended inconclusively in Beijing, reports Reuters.
