Trump's marriage: Melania Knauss is a solid person

&to=http:// english.pravda.ru/society/2001/04/27/4289.html ' target=_blank>Donald Trump married Slovenian model Melania Knauss in Florida yesterday with all the glamour, glitz and gold that money can buy.

The couple slipped into Trump's &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/economics/2001/06/15/7834.html ' target=_blank>Mercedes-Benz Maybach near a side entrance to the church after the 30-minute ceremony and drove past hundreds of cheering spectators with a police escort.

The setting for the opulent reception was Trump's newly unveiled $A55.4 million Versailles-inspired ballroom at his Mar-a-Lago estate and club, reports Melbourne Herald Sun.

According to the New Zealand Herald, the guests spilled out of the church to wave off the newly weds as Trump and Knauss, jewels glittering, smiled from their limousine at a crowd gathered on the street.

A cynic might have presumed that Mr Trump, 58, actually enjoys all this publicity. He has certainly made clear that he intends his relationship with Ms Knauss, 34, to work out, unlike his previous two marriages which ended with the same sort of publicity that this one has started with.

"I know her so well," Mr Trump said of his betrothed to the Palm Beach Post newspaper. "We've been together for more than five years, and we've lived together for three years. And she's a solid person. She was a very successful model. She made her own way."
