Philippines after two weeks of storms and typhoons

During the past two weeks heavy storms and typhoons have rocked the &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/accidents/2003/03/05/44030.html ' target=_blank>Philippines killing and injuring people. As a result at least 640 dead and about 400 people missing in the northern Philippines.

Typhoon Nanmadol, which struck the Philippines Thursday and Friday, resulted in hundreds fleeing their homes, reported the Scotsman Saturday.

Better weather Saturday made it easier for rescuers to reach thousands cut off by mudslides and floods, however supplies are shrinking, officials said, wrote the Washington Times.

According to the Scotsman, helicopters delivered food to famished survivors and picked up casualties as the weather cleared today in villages ravaged by storms.
