The slim, 35-year-old brunette Renee Zellweger said she thought twice about playing the blonde, slightly chubby Bridget in the second installment of the romantic comedy, a role that required her to put on several pounds.
"I initially had fears about doing a sequel," Zellweger said. "I didn't want to do something that wasn't substantial -- but it was great."
After "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" begins playing in theaters Friday, Zellweger said she plans to step away from the limelight, stop acting for a while and learn what it is like to be "just a girl", says CNN.
According to the Ireland Online, Last night’s premiere of Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason was greeted by thousands of fans in Leicester Square.
The movie’s stars, Renee Zellweger, Hugh Grant and Colin Firth, delighted the crowd by turning out at the event.
But fans could be disappointed when they go and see the much-hyped second movie, according to some critics.
For others though, film two is even better than the original, Bridget Jones’s Diary.
