Jimmy Haywood and Kenny Roy, a pair of black youths have made history

Jimmy, at age 11, became the youngest black pilot to make an international flight, and Kenny Roy, aged 14, passed Canada's flight test to become the world's youngest black pilot licensed to fly solo.

The two young boys flew from California to Canada and back under the guidance of a certified flight instructor for their 20 hour, round trip flight between Southern California and Vancouver, British Columbia.

Both boys, while trying to act casual about their accomplishment, would occasionally slip and let their self pride to slip out - and they have every reason to feel proud of their accomplishment.

To finance their training, the boys did volunteer work at Tomorrow's Aeronautical Museum. Long hours and diligence have paid off well for these two young men.

The boys even drew accolades from the Tuskegee Airmen organization. "The world records are something the boys can be proud of forever", said Oscar York, president of the Los Angeles chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen organization.
