Georgia to receive grant from USA

Georgia will receive grant assistance from the USA totaling $165m. According to Georgian mass media, US President George Bush met with the ambassadors of 16 countries that would receive assistance. Georgian Ambassador to the USA Levan Mikeladze took part in the meeting.

In his speech, Bush specified recent Georgian achievements, in particular, a sharp increase in expenditures on health care and social protection, a high pace of economic reforms and Georgian efforts to achieve stability in the country in general. Georgia has deserved additional economic aid from the USA. In 2004, the USA is also planning to grant assistance to Georgia totaling $265m.
